Hi

i would just like to say what a fantastic site!!!

Brings back a lot of memories, espeically looking at the pics of the old south denes caravan park. Such a shame it has gone.

Although I always puzzeled what the 2 strange strucutres were / arein the sea at south denes, and still do to this day?

Keep up the fantastic work.

Based in Edinburgh but from Fisherrow fishing family, in Scotland. What a wonderful site, it is great that someone is getting the fishing heritage recorded before everyone connected with the old days has passed on. The Fisherrow fishing families on the east coast of Scotland came from Holland and the Flanders in the 1550's and dutch boats still came to Fisherrow to pick up salt for curing until the 2WW. Many of my relatives followed the scottish fleet to Yarmouth and then on to Newlyn for the Autumn/Winter season. The women went as well. Guy cold working on the quay at the gutting yards. I hope the project prospers.

Can anyone remember a story about a caravan that exploded? It happened around 1954. The gas bottle had a leak. My grandparents and father were involved and would love to see any pics relating to this story. Think it was in the Gorleston newspaper.
