Hello Hieda, I was born at 7a Swirles Buildings just off Silk Mill Road where a family by the name of Eagles, lived . Mr Eagle had a fruit & veg stall on the market place and when the war came most stalls shut down. Mr & Mrs had a son named Albert & a daughter named Gloria in the 1940s we all as children played together. Mr Eagle used the public house on the corner where I lived it was the Hercules then.

VERY FAST FORWARD 2016 I understand Gloria married and lives at

Caistor nr Yarmouth? Albert I know nothing of? The road where the Eagles lived is now called Eagles way.  A relative of them a Lenny Eagle married my late fathers sister Annie (Childs nee Browne) both now passed away. I hope this is the info you are looking for.

Hi Heidi,

Mr & Mrs Eagle had 4 children, Arnold(not Albert), Gloria, Roger & Malcolm. Their large victorian warehouse down Market Road South was knocked down in the late 70's, early 80's & a block of flats was built there called The Eagles. This whole section of the road later came to be known as The Eagles. It is directly behind where the Oliver Twist pub is now. They used to have 2 fruit & veg stalls on Great Yarmouth market. When the Queen visited Yarmouth in the 80's she was introduced to Albert as the longest serving market trader...
