BOMBING OF REGENT RD.

UNEXPLODING BOMBS

By DOUGLAS WESTWOOD

My father was defending the beach at South Denes in late 1940 to December 1942  We returned in 1953 and 54  He told me of a stick of bombs one evening dropped on Regent Road that runs down to the pier Not one exploded!!! He was in the 14th Battalion South Staffs Reg  He really did not tell me of the extent of the bombing By that time things were getting better  Does anyone know of this incident
