The North Tower, shown here is one of the remaining towers which formed part of the Town Wall, which surrounded the town on three sides, the River Yare forming the fourth boundary.
There is evidence of the wall throughout the town, part of it can be seen under the Market Gates Precinct, and more near the Time and Tide Museum.
