Got more to say than 'Wish You Were Here'?

By John Layton

An improvement on the View book was the Letter Card, which provided several views of Yarmouth, combined with room to send more information than was available on an ordinary card.

The views shown here, from top to bottom are:

Part 1:
Yarmouth Hard Tennis Courts
Yarmouth Beach, Looking North
Yarmouth, Britannia Pier

Part 2:
Yarmouth Bathing Pool (Now the Marina Centre)
Yarmouth, Wellington Gardens & Pavilion

In the late 1940s and 1950s the Wellington Pier band stand was part of the rollerskating rink used by the skating shows: Skatercades and in 1950s Roller Revels (for more information see the item in lets talk magazine issue 63).

On the 6th of december 2007 I will be 71 years old, I have just mastered this computer lark. I was born at 7a Swirles Buildings, North Market Road, Great Yarmouth. I am pleased we now have a Yarmouth web site and look forward to all the news and comments.
