In 1939 I was 3 yrs old, my two brothers were evacuated who were older with their school I think it was Priory Boys School. I went with my mother and stayed with friends at Castle Ashby Northhants. We did'nt know there was a war on. By1941 we returned to Yarmouth and I was sent to Northgate School, I was only there a short time before it was bombed in the Northgate blitz. It was soon rebuilt with asbestos buildings, Mrs Cullingford was the head teacher.
Later I went to Priory Boys School. My two brothers were in the St.Nicholas church chior I wanted to join also but once again the church was bombed so I went to St. Peters church instead. Yarmouth was a scary place in wartime we spent a lot of time in the air-raid shelter.
