Glen Thane has worked at Arthur Jary & Sons for many years, serving an apprenticeship before becoming a stone mason. The photographs show him hand carving and sandblasting designs on to headstones in 1991. The museum recently visited Glen in his workshop and he is still using the combination of the two methods today, with the addition of computerised technology for more complicated designs.
