Photographs of the old railway bridge

By Paul Douch

Opened in 1901, the swing bridge carried the M.& G.N. railway line over Breydon Water. There were four spans.

The bridge closed in 1953. It was finally demolished in 1962.

Today the Breydon road bridge and the A47 take virtually the same route across the river.
