Photographs of fishing boats on the Yare - early 20th century
By Paul Douch
These photos probably date from the 1920s or 1930s, by which time most of the Scottish herring drifter fleets operating out of Great Yarmouth had been converted to steam.
Two of the photos were taken from the lighthouse situated on Brush Bend. Boats moored here did not have far to go to the open sea.
A Yarmouth boat YH239 is featured in the third photo.
